The Guillemots

The Guillemots "Annie let's not wait" has a catchiness that will grow on you. But it's not only the song that's catchy, the video is as well, which takes the song into catchiness overdrive.

Check out their MySpace for info on the new release.

Catchiest Swedish Song of 2006

Free polls from Pollhost.com

The winner will be announced in january. The winning artist or band will receive a sweet Catchiest Swedish Song of 2006 Diploma, printed out by me. Yaaay!!

Some bands like The Tough Alliance, Shout Out Louds, Acid House Kings, Suburban Kids with Biblical Names, Teddybears STHLM etc etc etc are in a bit of a grey area. But since they really didn't release any new stuff this year they're off the list for 2006. If you have a huge problem with this, then maybe you're just taking this a little bit too serious

Rachid Taha

French-Algerian artist Rachid Taha is not only a provocateur of major proportions, he also improves the catchiness of any old tune.

Le Sport

Another band that have dissolved is Swedish electro-pop-disco-whatever duo Le Sport. Homoerotic disco for the happy kids can be really catchy.

Disco catchy!

Death from above 1979

When Death from above 1979 played on Conan O'Brien the drummer/singer Sebastian Grainger jumped up and left the (extreme) drumming to Max Weinberg.
As if that wasn't enough, this song is catchy to.

The band is no more (as of aug 2006), but we'll always have Weinberg.

Catchiness in Space

At 02:47 (CET) the space shuttle Discovery launched from Florida. Not big news for the often space travelling American, but for the Swedes this is a big deal since onboard the shuttle is Swedens first astronaut.
Because of this the Swedish media have covered the event back to back, giving us info not only about what they will eat during the 12 day mission but also what song blasted over the communications channels just after they had launched.

So in honor of man in space and the fact that it's so damn catchy, here's the song prefered by astronauts 2006.

The King Blues

Like Millwall fans on their way to the game against Chelsea, this "hooligan tune" will have you singing along the second time you listen. Well, maybe the third time, with the accent and all.

The Loveninjas

Swedish The Loveninjas were smart enough not to name this song "I wanna be like you Cocker". But Jarvis moves on the dancefloor are guaranteed when the chorus is pumping and you're raising you glass of beer up against the ceiling.
